Art (Smith) - We will be learning about upcycled art, and creating a piece of art out of old books. If you have any old books that you're not using/wanting anymore please send them with your kids!
Religion (Nittler) -TESTING
English/Writing (Gillett)- Students are finishing grammar unit involving subject/predicate. We will begin the rough draft for the VFW Essay Contest entitled "Why I Appreciate American Veterans." They will also be finishing Vocabulary Unit 3. Test will be Tuesday of next week.
Spelling (Gillett) - Working on Unit 7 "Affixes" onFriday. Will distribute and discuss Unit 8, Suffixes to Words Ending in Silent E."
Math (Duree) - Working on classifying different types of polygons. Our next test will be on Thursday, October 9th (next week)
Reading (Gillett) - Will continue studying various types of literature in Unit 1 "Proving Yourself."

Social Studies (Nittler) - Quiz Tues. on Chapter 1, 1-2. Then we will move on to the forces that change the Earth and major landforms and bodies of water.
PE (Seidt) -Soccer Unit/ Fitness
Art (Smith) - Learning about Op Art and famous Op Artist Bridget Riley. Than working on an op art project using different blending techniques previously covered.
Religion (Nittler) -Chapter 4 will be covered. It deals with the meaning and importance of prayer.
English/Writing (Gillett)- Working on complete subjects/predicates and compound verbs.
Spelling (Gillett) - Spelling Unit dealing with Double Consonants.
Math (Duree) - We are starting the Geometry Unit. quiz and timed test on Friday.
Reading (Gillett) - Begin Unit 1 "Proving Yourself." Reading various selections dealing with this theme.

Religion (Nittler) -Chapter 3 Jesus is both God and man. Christians have a responsibility to imitate Jesus.

PE (Seidt) - Football Unit/ Fitness Unit. Handout over football will be given to students along with a unit project on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Art (Smith) - Completing blending worksheets. Starting a project over blending using warm and cool colors.
Religion (Nittler) -Chapter 2 deals with how God is present to us in the Sacraments.
English/Writing (Gillett)- Beginning Unit 2 in vocabulary text. Continue working on sentence structure and its many variances in grammar text. Please remember to sign up for REMIND to ensure that you receive all Communication Arts information. Thanks!
